I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic, for which it stands, one nation, under GOD, Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all... Any questions? The lovely United State of America. We are a nation of freedom under GOD's "will" yet we are not allowed to talk about GOD in schools. We are proud to say that we said The Pledge Allegiance in school every day years ago and had less crime and adolescent kids. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and GOD.
A reminder daily of who we are, what we are and why would not hurt any of us. Grew up reciting the pledge and never could figure how being an American was offensive to other so called Americans. Even if a lot of the world is not so fond of us for butting in and trying to make them American. Need to do a new job citizen description to define just what is an American and for all eyes and ears to be on the same page toward that goal. We live in divisive times.
What I see in the nation is when my grandparents came they tried to fit in. They changed their names to fit in, they changed their speech to fit in. They wanted to be American not from another country.
Not so today.... new comers want to be separate, speak their native language, keep to themselves and expect others to change for them.
Steve~ I said the pledge in school as a child and I believe our children and grandchildren should do the same.
