It seems like all we ever hear is stories about how crappy contractors are today, or how difficult it is to find someone competent to do the jobs we need done around our homes.
Good luck to any contractor trying to please a home inspector!
It is my pleasure, in this post, to recommend the roofing company, Metal Roof Specialties that recently installed a new standing-seam, steek roof on our house.
Our roof had been headed toward replacement for quite some time and when it actually started leaking this past Thanksgiving we finally realized that we had to look seriously at options for replacement.
I was pretty adamant that we were not going to install another asphalt roof on our house without considerable gnashing of teeth. Out of respect for the planet and dwindling resources I wanted to install a metal roof. I figured that we would likely be in our home in another 25 years and then we would have to install another roof at a time when we could least afford to do it---in what would likely be our “limited income” years. This consideration more than offset the higher cost of the metal roof.
When Joe came to discuss options for the roof, it did not take long to see that he knew more than the average roofer. He was aware of ventilation issues related to roof structures and had more than a rudimentary knowledge of building science pertinent to roof structures and homes in general.
From start to finish it was a pleasure working with the entire crew that did the actual work. Their attention to detail and care of the property in the context of the replacement was much appreciated.
It is not very often that one gets to be proud of a roof---but our new metal roof is awesome. I look forward to years of easy moss control, considerable reduced maintenance and that we were able to take this small green step with our green roof.
