Philadelphia Flower Show March 2-10, 2013 (Day Trip From Delaware County PA)
You know spring is on its way when you hear and see broadcasts on the local television and radio stations that the Philadelphia Flower Show is here! The show begins Saturday March 2nd and runs through Sunday March 10th, 2013.
It is a Rite of Spring and an event many people take seriously. People from Delaware County and miles around make sure they visit this great pageantry of flowers, aromas and recreations of exotic living environments inside the Philadelphia Convention Center every year. It is a way to say goodbye to winter in Southeast Pennsylvania and hello to spring!
This year’s theme is “Brilliant” or should we say “Great Britain”. Florists and Landscape Designers from all over the country will create live displays inspired from the British culture, past and present. There will be contests, demonstrations and the opportunity to escape into beautiful scenery inside the Philadelphia Convention Center with the flavor of Great Britain.
The Philadelphia Flower Show is the longest running event of its kind and is so close to Delaware County that one must experience this event at least once to understand why it is such a draw year after year. Delaware County is so lucky to be so close to the many events the city has to offer and the Philadelphia Flower Show is one event that continues to herald in the joy of the upcoming spring season and has been doing so since 1829!
