5K Run For Scholarships
Cumberland County Public Schools Foundation is partnering with Centra Southside Community Hospital in their sponsorship of a 5 K Run for Scholarships. This event will be the first race to include the the recently completed High Bridge portion of High Bridge Trail State Park.
Cumberland County Public Schools Foundation: Proceeds will go towards the Foundation's scholarship fund. Since 2001, the foundation has provided over $170,000 dollars in scholarships to graduates of Cumberland County High School. The foundation also awards teachers grants to help aid the school in purchases learning aids not otherwise available with the current funding.
Registration: Adults 5K - $25; Race Day - $30
Students, Children (12& Under), Walkers - $15, Race Day - $25
Pre-Registration: Pre-Race packets can be picked up Friday, March 15 from 3:00 to 7:00 at Southside Virginia Family YMCA (580 Commerce Rd. Farmville, VA) or visit www.riversiderunners.com to register online.
Race Day Registration: Participants can register at the Start/Finish location beginning at 8:15 AM
Start / Finish Location: River Road Trail Entrance to High Bridge Trail (532 River Rd. Farmville VA)
Free Parking: Due to the limited parking at the River Road Trail Entrance, the Farmville municipal lot (124 N. South St. Farmville VA) has been opened for additional parking. Shuttle service to and from the event will be available from 8:00 - 9:00 AM and at the conclusion of the run until 2:00 PM.
