Looking For an Irish Stone Castle?
Well, maybe you can put that on your bucket list to visit one day like I have. Wouldn't it be magnificent to have the view in this photo? Or imagine what it was like for those who actually lived there?
Maybe an Irish Pub Will Do For Now!
Back in my world of Carroll County, Maryland we do have a stone building in Westminster which opened as a foundry from 1867-1870. There were many different uses for this building up until B's Coffee Shop closed in the 1980's. It stood vacant for may years.
O'Lordans Irish Pub in Westminster Maryland opened it's doors on October 25th 2005.
The O'Lordan's name whose lineage can be traced to the owner's grandmother's family. Granda O'Lordan made a living off the sweat of his brow as a stevedore in the old country. Legend has it that he provided a refreshing red ale to his fellow workers after a long day on the docks.
This is the perfect spot to stop in during the St. Patricks Day weekend to enjoy classic Irish fare along with regional and eclectic favorites. The crab dip is to die for! Live music can be heard Saturday 9-midnight and and Sunday evening 6-10.
Cheers!
