Pensacola has many great places to see. We have parks, national seashores, Gulf of Mexico, quaint little city centers as well as many water related places to visit. This weekend we attended the Navy Museum at NAS. Over the years we have gone there several times. Many times on field trips or with the boy scouts and many times with our family.
This time we were able to explore by ourselves. We bought tickets for the IMAX. The show we saw was excellent. It was a film on how special the men and women who blazed a trail through the rocky mountains. http://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/explore/imax/rocky-mountain-express.

We enjoyed the day as we strolled throught the many years of military history displayed in videos, diorama's, pictures, displays, and models. Hundreds of actual Navy planes are on display. Many are one of a kind and limited editions.
This place is so much fun. Be sure to give yourself at least one full day to cover this very large museum. Even with as many times as I have been at the museum, I haven't scene everything. This is a must see with children when you are visiting the Pensacola area.
