It seems that the work on I-635 (LBJ) is picking up steam. This week the traffic patterns in North Dallas have changed once again. It has been fortunate that many people are out of town for Spring Break. The Northbound and the southbound ramps to I-35 E will be closed periodically over the next two weeks. It is best to check the LBJ Express website for the most current information.
Many of the north - south streets are scheduled for lane closures over the next seven days including Midway Road and Marsh Lane. At times, one or more lanes will be closed and impact your travel time. Again, I recommend checking the LBJ Express website or avoiding the area. Remember that the construction area goes from Greenville Avenue to Luna Road.
Today, I traveled from the Preston Royal area to Belt Line Road in Coppell. I traveled west on Royal to MacArthur and then headed north to I-635. The traffic in the area of Royal Lane and I-35 E was heavy, but not unbearable.
Traveling from North Dallas to the East, it is far easier to take Royal Lane, Walnut Hill Lane, or Northwest Highway to the Garland area. It is a more direct route to the eastern suburbs and definitely in your best interest time wise.
Drive carefully and remember the construction on I-635 (LBJ) and all intersecting roads!
