JOYFUL MORNING IN HEATH, TEXAS

The Sabbath is my favorite day of the week! My day starts with attending my church, First Baptist Church, where I have been a member for many years. Pastor Paul Jacobs and Music Director Phil Alford delivers a sermon and music perfectly matched to message.

Morning worship services are at 10:50 AM and evening services at 7:00 PM.

The weekly schedule is packed with activities for all ages as well as bible studies. You should check out The Discovery School if you have children.

First Baptist Church was founded in 1956 and is located at 224 Smirl Drive and the phone number is 972-771-8275 if you would like to call for additional information.

Now for a bit of history.

On September 26, 1874 eleven people gathered at the Willow Springs schoolhouse (near the current location) to form the Willow Springs Baptist Church of Christ named because of all the willow trees and a nearby natural spring. First Baptist Church of Heath has rich history going back the past 139 years! First Baptist Church of Heath was founded in 1949

Sunday is my favorite day of the week and when I feel refreshed spiritually and relax slowing down from the busy work week. The best way to have a joyful Sunday is to start the day at the First Baptist Church in Heath, Texas.

I read lots more on the history of the early founding of the first Church it was too long to put in a post. The original church evolved into the modern day church where I attend. The first church grew and burned down during those years across the street from where we are now. Then it was rebuilt later to what is still standing and was the first time that I attended church at First Baptist Church in Heath. Then our new building was built is where we attend worship today.

Barbara, thank you for sharing your Sunday at First Baptist Church in Heath, Texas. It is always special to hear about and see what is meaningful to another AR member. My daughter, Julie, is one of the three principals at Central Florida First Baptist Christian Academy in Orlando. Have gone to her church for services and events. Three of my grandchildren attend the Academy.
