Hey Steven, isn't this one of the homes the Guildersleeve's built from Alaskan timber? Your video completely made me forget my work at hand and I sat through the entire thing wishing I was back in Maui upcountry! My wife and I stayed at the Guildersleeve's B&B in Jan 2012.

Funny conincidence, I had a nightmare just last night that I went to upcountry Maui for a week and forgot to take photographs or video. Obviously that is not the reality. I drive everyone crazy with my photo-fetish when I'm in Maui as you can see here: http://t2i-canon.info/

Did you ever have occasion to meet the Guildersleeves? They're the nicest folks you'd ever want to know. They live in the larger house, top floor, just above your listing I believe. Mr. Guildersleeve has an iron clasp of a handshake for any man much less a man in his 80s! He spent decades as a logger in Alaska.

Dave the Haiku Estate is an old Baldwin Family home. I know that some of the homes in Olinda that they brought in the logs on open ships from the northwest. The logs were covered in salt water which turns out was a great way to treat the lumber. Glad you enjoyed the video.
