Did you hire the right real estate agent?  Does your real estate agent know what they are doing?  In almost every occupation when applying for a job the first part of the process is to provide a prospective employer a resume, references, and past accomplishments.  This is the starting point in the hiring process in corporate America.   The resume highlights the experience, education, and background of the applicant before they are even considered for employment.  Many are hired by referrals from others because employers prefer to work with people they know than someone just off the streets but in most cases they have some prior experience in the chosen field.

What was the hiring process you went through in determining the competency of your Real Estate Agent?  Where they referred to you, or did you hire the first agent you saw in a magazine or sign?  Do you really know the background or experience of the person you have entrusted in handling possibly the largest financial decision in your lifetime?

Think about it?  When you are having a major surgical procedure do you have an intern or the recent graduate who "talks the talk" and has performed this type of procedure once or twice operate?  Do you leave this to chance?  Or do you have the experienced doctor with years of training perform the operation?  What are the chances you get the proper care?

Many people question the real estate agents they hire and feel they know more than the agent. In some instances when pricing, buying and selling homes they do, because unbeknownst to the homeowner they are working with an "intern".

But just like a seasoned doctor those with experience get the job done quicker, with less pain, less scaring, and the best possible outcome.

Question your agent, like you would question your doctor.  But don't think you know more than the experienced and seasoned Real Estate Agent.  Seek and follow their advice.  You wouldn't tell your experienced doctor how to operate on you would you? that would be ludicrous!.

The same applies with your seasoned Real Estate Agent, they do this procedure everyday many times a year.  You as the homeowner may sell a home once every five years on average.  Does that qualify you to know all the complexities of the real estate transaction today.   Listen to their counsel they will tell you the truth.  Others may tell you what you want to hear so they can practice their craft.

In summary, hiring the right seasoned agent will likely achieve the desired outcome you are looking for and that is the successful sale or buying of the home you desired.  Did you hire the right one?
