Mission BBQ Has A Unique Way To Say Thanks To Our Veterans
Mission BBQ got it's start on the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 in Glenn Burnie, MD.
Owners Bill Kraus and Steve Newton opened Mission BBQ as a way to give back to our men and women in uniform.
"The whole mission of Mission BBQ was an opportunity for two best friends that wanted to build something that had a purpose," Kraus said. "We're patriotic guys and we're passionate about barbecue."
"I look at this as my chance to serve," said Newton. "Having never served in the military or been a police office, firefighter or first responder, this is an opportunity I get to give back to them."
Kraus say it's their chance to give back, to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
For Kraus it's also personal.
"Deep down for me, thrre's an emotional attachment," he said. "Our oldest son just finished five years in the Marine Corps. two tours of duty. Our youngest son is inbound at the Naval Academy."
Mission BBQ currently has locations in Glen Burnie and Perry Hall Maryland with another location scheduled to open in Canton Crossing. Let's hope they keep expanding.

Let's not forget to say Thank You to those who have served and continue to serve to give us the freedoms we enjoy. Last week I wrote a piece title "Let's Remember All Our Veterans On Memorial Day - I Fought For You!"
