Is there a Zipline Attraction in Clermont, Florida's future?
In a recent Orlando Sentinel column, Clermont Zip Line Attraction Could Work If Done Properly, it states that the City of Clermont is looking into a possible zip line attraction that would start at the Citrus Tower and descend down to Lake Minneola. If this happens, I will ride it. I will love it. I will tell EVERYBODY about it. However, I doubt it happens. Do the people of Clermont really want to see people zipping down from the Citrus Tower, over Hwy 27 and over their houses? Doubt it.
I have some ideas that I think the people of Clermont would really love and would also help to booster the economy of Downtown Clermont.
1.) Splash Park- With the popularity of splash parks, I wonder why this hasn't already been done. It doesn't need to be as fancy as the Tavares Splash Park. Maybe something like the Winter Garden Splash Park. This would bring families into Downtown Clermont and generate a slight buzz. It's perfect For the Downtown area. We have Lake Minneola, the trail, playgrounds, beach, etc...
2.) Concerts- Clermont has a BRAND NEW amphitheater that was built in 2012. Why aren't we getting concerts or shows there? Granted, it is not the biggest of amphitheaters and probably couldn't attract large name bands, but I am sure we could attract decent talent for concerts and shows. Again, this would bolster the economy of Downtown Clermont.
3.) Movie In The Park- Another idea that would generate traffic flow to downtown. Charge a small admission for families and let the good times roll!
