Anyone who has done a little 
When you pick up the Real Estate magazines at the store this is like spashing around off the coast of Australia. This signals all of the Realtors that you are a home buyer and meal for the sharks. These magazines are really bait to get you to call an agent. They usually leave out the price, or address so you will call and the Realtor will have a chance to sell you on thier services. Most buyers start calling and leaving messages on all of the different homes, not aware that the feeding frenzy is about to begin. It's the same on the internet. Everything you click asks for your information and that becomes leads for agents and companies to spread to their agents. 
So how do you avoid being lunch for hungry Realtors? It's easy, first you do what you should do and hire an agent who will eventually help you when your ready. They will have tools much better with all of the information for you to search for homes. You need real information, not outdated bait for leads. ou can either get a list mailed to you or email updates. We actually have a home Search Suite which lets you have all the information, pictures, addresses, maps, taxes, payment calculators, and the ability to save and track your favorites. Yeah, many people don't understand the waters they are playing in are full of lead generation tools (sharks) trying to bite them. Home Scouting is a good site and it's also why you should hire your realtor first so you don't have to waste your time.
Yes, hire a Realtor first and then go shopping. Your Realtor will look out for your best interest and be able to help you narrow the playing field to the best fit.
