Selling a "Starter Home"? Stage it to Sell!

By
Home Stager with Staging Seattle, King & Snohomish Counties

In today's real estate market it's important to have your listings stand out from the crowd.  Even in the "starter home" price points, today's buyers want their new home to be move in ready.  Staging a vacant home can make it feel instantly welcoming and cozy.  Especially in the winter months it's important to have adequate lighting throughout the house and to remember to keep the heat at a comfortable level.  Adding color to compliment the existing elements in the home, showing buyers how they can live comfortably in the space, and setting the stage for a positive emotional reaction to the home is what a good home stager can provide.

The majority of my business is working with homes that are either considered "starter" to medium priced homes.  Even in a weak market, lower priced homes still sell!  And they sell QUICKLY!!!  Some stagers may not market their services to this price segment, but I have found it very profitable!

Fabulous work!

Deborah and Roz - Thanks for the kind comments and for stopping by to take a look.

Kristina - Starter homes really do benefit from staging, especially those with small rooms.  You need to show potential buyers that there is enough space there for them to live comfortably and we've found that the rooms actually feel larger with furniture in them than without.

Great Room!  Redesigns work well for this type of customer, depending on the market, and price point they are usually not able to rent too much furniture, so you have to be creative.

Update on this recently staged house - it's now under contract, on the market for less than 30 days.  Another staging success!
