Have you been looking at the rental prices thinking...gosh for that price maybe we should consider buying a home versus renting a home. You might be right. The average two bedroom condo or apartment in our area rents for $1400 a month!
Single family homes rent for $2000 up to $3000a month.
To make matters even more challenging, rental inventory and resale inventory is very, very low. So the relocating folks must be aware of that.This week we had a family of six and a relocating family of two drop in with suitcases in tow and no where to go. Hotel rooms are expensive and base housing options are slim! Please do your homework before you arrive. Or call a local REALTOR who can help you. Don't go it alone. Furnished and short term rentals are non-existent.
Most landlords want one months rent in advance and one months security deposit. On a $2000.00 rental that is $4000.00. This must be certified funds. Plus if you have a pet, you will pay up to a $500 non refundable deposit. That is $4500 needed just to rent a home!

- So really it's up to you where you want to live, both area's offer wonderful services and a small town community feel that you are looking for. In Fredericksburg you get way more for your money than in the Lake Ridge Virginia and surrounding Woodbridge Virginia communities.
