No Privacy With Gmail?

I was reading my emails this morning when I got this eye opening link about Gmail. Here's the link to the Article from the San Francisco Chronicle:

GOOGLE: If You Send To Gmail, You Have 'No Legitimate Expectation Of Privacy'

We've been transitioning over to using gmail and google docs for the past year now and this is something that never dawned on me. Including using Top Producer for our CRM, and Google Docs for all our attachments through Top Producer.

Those of you who use TP know what I'm talking about. For those of you who don't, it appears as if your documents are in your clients file, when actually they are stored in Google Docs.

So now I'm left wondering, is this safe? It took me the longest time to think about whether it was safe or not from the standpoint of losing my files. Now do I have something totally different to consider?
