How can a buyer use this space? Staging a large family room addition

A few weeks back, I gave you a peek at a staging project Stage A Star had completed, "Grandma's bathroom gets a makeover"

Here's another room that was the biggest challenge within this project. This was one of those huge family room additions. Beyond this room was a screened in porch addition just as large.  The challenge of this room was that it was very long and narrow and connected to the sunroom. Through the family room windows...you could see this sunporch.

The other challenges were that this room was just massive with vaulted ceilings and sterile white walls that had to remain white.  The room itself was not showing well. Potential buyers were having a hard time figuring out what to do with so much space. How would they use this room?

For this space, we brought in a few key pieces that would update the look and feel of the room.  Because the walls were white and the space felt so cold, we used red window panels to help inject some color into the space as well as give it a more cozy family room feel. Dressing the windows that led to the sunporch helped to downplay that view too.

We also defined the space into three areas....the sitting/TV viewing area, desk area, and reading nook area.  By doing this, we were now able to help potential buyers see how to use this large room.

I'll be posting more on this one soon.

I also have to add that my inspiration for the windows comes from Melody Salazar's blog  "Tips for TOO large rooms"

UPDATE: After 6 months on the market with little interest and no offers, we staged this property. After the staging, the home was re-listed with a new Realtor and put on the MLS as a new listing.  With new pictures and interesting rooms (now that it was staged), showings increased and this home had an offer in under 90 days!

Isn't it time to stage your property and get it SOLD!?  Staging works!  This is a perfect example of that. Call Stage a Star today....we look forward to assisting you!

Great choice in bringing some color into the room with new window treatments!  It adds life to an otherwise blank canvas.  Nice work!
