Holding on to your copyrights for your photos

Hank - Thanks for the link and your title got my attention.  I absolutely hear you on the reading the small print. 

It is for this reason that we upload all of our images to our web server when referencing them, and we do not upload the actual images.  We then provide img links to the photos.  If, for any reason, we lose control over the page with the links, we need only move the images to a different directory to control the rights to  the images.

You can possibly add your MLS to the list of hijackers.  I haven't yet found the document that I signed which relinquished my rights but our local board affixes it's own copyright notice to every photo I upload to them.

After reading Don's comment, I looked at everything that I signed for our MLS: I can't find anything either--and our board does the same thing.

Thanks for the interesting post.  I did not know that could happen if you joined competitions.

Thanks for the information Hank!  I have thought about entering some of my photos but hesitated because I wondered about this issue.
