My idea of a rainbow moment is a calm after the storm. Like in the biblical story where it rained and rained for forty days and nights and out came a rainbow - a symbol of God's promise.
We've all had them - rainbow moments in real estate. Times where you feel like you've been through hell (there is no other word for it) and finally the clouds clear and you can almost feel the weight lifting or the stress easing and you wonder 'how did I make it through that?'
Being one who hates disorganization, it seems I can be attracted to it. I'm definitely not intimidated by it. My style is to be easy and steady, almost instinctively finding ways to bring calm and order to a situation. That is one of the reasons real estate suits me.
I've talked with fellow agents about this as well. Many of us enjoy making things right again. Not that I want to be anyone's hero but I like being a part of bringing things right.
Sometimes it is finding the right repair person to fix a minor repair for the listing so the buyer can move forward and the seller can move into their new house. Sometimes it is finding a rental because there is nothing for the seller to buy with their criteria available before the buyers need to move in. Sometimes it means being patient with a newer agent and finally making it to closing. Sometimes it means dealing with the movers, who are stuck in a storm and your buyers need their bed to sleep on in their new house! Or it could mean making hundreds of phone calls to the relocation company and finally finding someone who speaks English!
Whatever the case, I celebrate the rainbow moments and continue to look forward to them as they are evidence of God's promise.
