It's not who you know, but how much you see them that matters!!!

I am reading this GREAT book. Influencer.

Reading last night I came across am unfamililar word. Propinquity. This is the definition of it in Wikapedia.

"The propinquity effect is the tendency for people to form friendships or romantic relationships with those whom they encounter often. In other words, relationships tend to be formed between those who have a high propinquity.

Propinquity can be more than just physical distance. Residents of an apartment building living near a stairway, as an example, tend to have more friends from other floors than others. The propinquity effect is usually explained by the mere exposure effect, which holds that the more exposure a stimulus gets, the more likeable it becomes.

Do you know what this MEANS!!! It Means EVERYTHING!!!

We know who we know because they are close to us. We see them often.  So if we want more people in our lives we need to be where we can see them more often.

That and what about our kids. How close are they to us?

We have more influence over those we see the most.

Debbi, That is a very good observation.  I had recently wrote and blog on our neighbors who will be moving soon.  I Know our relationship will change because we no longer have the convience of being next door.  I think I will check out the book.  Bye the way I am at home with my kids.

Debbie, it is not who we know or how many people we know that will lead to our success, it is how many people when they think real estate think of us that counts

You are as good as the people you surround yourself with. Like minded people are attracted to each other. In this job networking and getting out there is everything in our business. Fostering relationships with family members, friends, co-workers, and clients is always a constant. I always have to remind myself of this, it sometimes is not always automatic! Thx for your words Debbie :)

The book does sound good.  And that is a good phrase to remember.  I forget this at times.  Face to Face is key. Its all too easy to get caught up in business and computer stuff and not see your friends/contacts often enough.
