Stop Giving Out Business Cards and Use Another Option

Reblogger Merline D Pennant - New homes, Short Sales and Pre-foreclosures

Debbie has a smart way to give her contact information.  She has herself as a contact and sends that to the person she is speaking with.  This is an excellent idea.  I have lost so many cards over the years and as for pieces of paper that is even worse.  I have taken Debbie's smart advice and I advise us all to do the same. This may be the new business card of the future.  Maybe there is a new business card app in the future.

smart phonesStop Giving Out Business Cards and Use Another Option. I was trying to give an insurance business associate a referral. We were in a relaxed social situation with some mutual friends without business cards.

I did not have her email information and neither did she have mine. So I did what I have done a lot of lately. I have stopped giving out business cards and use another option.

A long time ago I set myself up in my address book with my own contact information. So I sent her my contact information via text. All she had to do was click to add me as a contact to her address book in her phone. There was no business card to lose or chance of mistyping my name and contact info into her phone.

She had not set herself up as a contact in her address book so she did it right then. She couldn't believe that she had never heard or thought of doing this. I was able to share this technique with a career professional that had been in the sales business for 30 years. In the business world or in a social setting you never have to worry about not having your business cards with you as long as you have your smart phone by your side to send someone your contact information.

Stop Giving Out Business Cards and Use Another Option. Wouldn't you rather be added immediately to someone's address book and know they got it correctly than have your business card possibly misplaced, lost or your name and numbers mistyped?

If you would like to share an electronic business card with me through this option just let me know and we will text each other our individual information.

Thanks Merline for the reblog. There are business card apps but I find they overwhelm some cell phone users. But a contact is an easy way to accept someone's information.
