Like Oconomowoc, the City of Delafield sits on the shores of Lake Nagawicka. Every weekend there is something going on in Delafield. bazaars, craft sales, building tours, and more.
History abounds in Delafield. Dealfield, Wisconsin was originally known as the Michigan territory.Settlers, including farmers and merchants started to utilate the land and the land resources.Along with sheep that began to graze the hills and valleys as grist and saw mills appeared along the streams.
The most famous settler was Nelson Hawks who moved here with his family from the state of New York. Mr. Hawks named this settlement Delafield and in 1848, the Michigan territory became the State of Wisconsin. Today this historic community thrives with over six thousand residents. Just twenty-five miles west of Milwaukee, and fifty miles east of Madison, Delafield attracts families and businesses to it's historic and beautiful landscape.
