Ahoy sailors - Enjoy the best of Coconut Grove waterfront living!
The weather should be perfect this weekend, both sunny and windy, for the 3rd annual Halloween Howler Youth Regatta hosted by the Coconut Grove Sailing Club on October 26th & 27th.
The Coconut Grove Sailing Club (CGSC) is perfectly situated on the waterfront of Miami at 2990 S. Bayshore Drive with water activities and sports held all year. Youth programming begins on September 7h and the fall season goes through the end of December. There are four different divisions of youth sailing which occurs every Saturday 9AM to 4PM, rain or shine. During the year, kids and adults learn sailing skills during their hosted programs like Learn to Sail for Adults, Scholarships for Beginning Sailors, Keelboat Training for Advanced Skippers and many others.
The Halloween Howler Youth Regatta at CGSC will make young people fall in love with sailing and living on the waterfront in Coconut Grove. This weekend, the Coconut Grove Sailing Club will be decorated with Halloween designs as more than 100 aspiring sailors’ age 6 to 18 years old participate in the 2-day event.
Continental breakfast and lunch will be served each day and on the night of October 26th, participants and their families will experience a dinner buffet by the Grove Nest Restaurant known for delicious dishes like Lobster Ravioli and Baja Fish Tacos. Later that evening, enjoy a great movie on the lawn area with friends and family.
The Halloween Howler Youth Regatta sailing event will welcome residents from the Biscayne Bay area, the Bahamas, South Florida and Mexico. In fact, a number of international competitions are also set forth in CGSC’s waterfront. The Olympic Class Regatta is one of these contests and the Coconut Grove Sailing Club will also host 2013’s Melges Racing.
