Leaf Bag Collection

Curbside leaf bag collection begins November 4, 2013 and runs through January 10, 2014.  Leaf bags will be collected on the next business day after your regular trash collection day, except Christmas and New Year's Day. The County requests that you remove dirt, stones, litter and other debris from leaves, put only leaves in the biodegradable paper leaf bags, and close the bags by folding the top down.  Bags should be placed at the curb by 6:30 am the next business day after your regular trash collection day.

Where to get Recyclable Paper Leaf Bags

Paper leaf bags are available at most hardware stores or are available free while supplies last at select Arlington locations beginning October 21st.  For a list of locations, visit the Arlington County Leaf Collection Website.  Please do not use plastic bags.  The paper bags will be ground along with the leaves to use for mulch.

Vacuum Collection

Vacuum collection will begin November 11th and run through December 20th, 2013 with two passes per civic association.  Look for signs in your neighborhood announcing the specific dates or go to the County Website.  Leaves should be raked to the curb away from storm drains and water meter covers within 7 days of the collection date.
