I am not sure about you but I have always be fascinated by the New York Marathon. As a little girl, I watched the marathon on tv. I always thought to myself "Why do these people run?" "How could they possibly run for that long of a period of time?" I admire these runners. I was never a runner. Yes, I ran as a kid playing sports but I never imagined myself running a marathon -- the thought actually scared me.
One day, as I was creating a bucket list of things I never imagined doing, I put down a 1/2 Marathon and a full Marathon in my lifetime. Well, March 18, 2012, I completed my first 1/2 Marathon in NYC. I must say, this was the most amazing experience and memory of my lifetime so far. As I trained for this race and ran that day the answers to my questions as a little girl were answered! I ran to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with Team in Training. I had an amazing coach, team & support! Running my first 1/2 Marathon was one of the most amazing accomplishments of my life because it was something I never imagined I could ever complete.
Training for the marathon taught me so many things. It taught me that with desire, dedication and support anything in life is possible. My marathon training was very important to me -- it took pressidence over anything going on in my life -- social, family or work. I raised over $2,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and I will never forget my experience.
And, in 2014, I am READY TO DO IT AGAIN! Cick on this link to Help Me Reach My Goal!
To help and motivate me to cross that finish line, I am asking for names you would like me to run in honor or memory of. I will place a ribbon with each name on my shirt the day of the marathon and know that those names will motivate me to cross the finish line!
Keep your head and your heart in the right direction and
you'll never have to worry about your feet ...
