How to Get Rid of Holiday Food Odors

I drove through my town of Lansdale PA the other day and saw the Christmas decorations going up on the light poles. Yes it's only November 13th,  but it seems like the holidays are in full swing. That means having family and friends over for holiday dinners and parties. That also means a lot of food is being cooked in your kitchen. If you're one of the sellers currently on the market, you'll have to defend your home against lingering food odors throughout the holiday season.

Your Montgomery County PA home stager and real estate agent will tell you it's best to have a clean smelling home. Now that doesn't mean masking odors with air fresHow to Get Rid of Holiday Food Odorsheners. I'm all for air fresheners to add a little scented ambiance to a home. But no one wants a home that smells like turkey and meadow rains.

So you hosted a holiday party for your family and friends and you have a last minute showing the next day. The smell of your stuffed mushrooms linger in the air and in the furniture, but not in a good way. You don't want to say no to your agent, after all this could be the buyer that puts in an offer. Now what? Fear not. This Montgomery County PA home stager has the answer on how to get rid of holiday food odors, quickly.

It's called Ozium and it's a miracle worker.  It's mostly used to eliminate cigarette smoke odors, but in a pinch when you don't have time to air out the house, it should be your go to holiday food odor eliminator. You can purchase it at any local retailer such as Walmart, Target, online at Amazon, etc. It is powerful stuff, so they recommend to spray it a couple times and leave the room for about 10 minutes. Make sure your pets aren't in the room either.

After 10 minutes it's like the party never happened. And now you're ready for that last minute showing...after cleaning up the mess left by Uncle Bob of course :)

Selling during the holidays can be tricky. Knowing how to get rid of holiday food odors can be the trick up your sleeve to help you get through it.

Suzanne-Great information. I too dislike the overpowering odor of air freshners. It seems that some people have allergies that react to some of the chemical in those products too. Thanks.

Thank you for the tip, Suzanne!  Air fresheners are anything but that.  Scoe 10x is a great pet smell eliminator (even removes cat urine stench).  BTW, I'm not a shareholder, just a fan of it; we have a tempermental male cat.

What you may like Roger, some may not. Better safe than sorry.

It's better to have no smell than to have a heavy artificial one Wayne.

Thanks for that tip Eric! I've been lucky to not have a temperamental cat in my day!

The smells may be OK, if they happen to be foods that we like, but if they are not, that is not fun. Nice job with your post, informative.

Suzanne,I have heard of this product before but didn't know that it was sold at local stores. I will be getting some of that for our rentals and those listings that just never smell fresh.
