Tammie.. I do the same thing.  There are Preferred Lenders that I can count on and I do. They will meet my clients on the weekends or any time that I need for them to.  When you build a strong relationship with these Preferred lenders..you can count on them and they can count on you..

Why I Use a Preferred Lender

Why I Use a Preferred LenderReal estate is not a Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 business. Even though, I might wish it were.

Most of the time, we are out with buyers showing properties on the weekends and evenings.

Oftentimes, a buyer will find a home on a weekend or late on a week night. Since I encourage buyers to write an offer as soon as they find "the one", time is of the essence.

Having a pre-approval letter accompanying the offer, may make the difference between a seller choosing us over another offer in a multiple offer situation.

This is why I use a preferred lender who can provide me with a pre-approval letter at a moment's notice.

Last night, an opportunity became available for a client to make an offer on a property not yet listed. We needed to act quickly to get the offer in. I contacted my client's lender immediately to get a pre-approval letter. It was 5:05 p.m. The lender said she was already at home and wouldn't be able to provide a pre-approval letter until the morning.

I already knew my client was approved, I just needed the letter to accompany the offer.

This morning, I contacted the lender right away. Of course, the bank didn't open until 9 a.m. I left a message. When I still didn't have the pre-approval letter by 9:45, I called again and left another message explaining that I was waiting for the pre-approval letter that had been promised for first thing this morning.

At 10:30, I received a call that it was being forwarded. At 11:00, when I still didn't have it, I called again. This time I waited on the phone until the lender forwarded it to me.

When submitting offers time is of the essence. A pre-approval letter can make or break an offer. This is why I use a preferred lender who takes my calls on evenings and weekends.

My preferred lender understands that my business isn't a Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 business. He, therefore, isn't a 9 to 5 business either. A quick phone call gets me a pre-approval letter in about 5 minutes.

I am sure that this has made all the difference for my clients. Especially, when they have been up against multiple offers. Lenders are constantly soliciting me for business. Why would I bother when my lender is so responsive?

If you are a buyer and you come to me to purchase a home, I may ask you to get pre-approved with my lender. That's why I use a preferred lender to get you the best chance of winning the home.

Ginger, thanks for the re-blog. Our business isn't a 9 to 5 job and we need vendors who recognize this and serve our needs.
