I have to admit I never read the Active Rain Guidelines when I started on this community. I just read a bunch of posts by other people and then started up myself. I'm saying that I started for selfish reasons, I wanted to promote myself and that was a huge goal in 2013. In 2014 it is even bigger. You can't make it without spreading the word through the tools we are given.
It all changed when I found out what great people were here and how they would reach out and help you and became my friends.
I do not want to come off as arrogant it is more stupidity. I do not think I have violated these great guidelines ever or if I did it was by accident. I feel this after reading them because I only took notice they were even in place was because of this contest.
So something good came out of this I read the Active Rain Rule book. I am sorry but that is how my personalty works. I jump in and figure it out as I go. Maybe this is wrong and I do not recommend it to any other people just starting out in this community but it's my story.
The guidelines are something I would follow anyway because I respect other people and want their respect. I have always been a person with a short attention span and have a hard time with authority. When I take CE I cannot handle taking it in a class. I do self study courses and sometimes read for ten minutes and put the book down and walk over to the computer and make a few comments on someones blog, then go eat a few crackers and go back to studying. A rambling statement but true, for me.
Anyway I love being a member of Active Rain. I have been here one year now. I have made life long friends. I have much respect for so many wonderful people I have encountered on the much loved Active Rain.
Let us help each out each out each other in any way we can and follow the rules but reading the damn thing first instead of the way Noah did it
