By
Real Estate Agent with BHHS/Utah Properties 8528255-SA00

One recent ranking has Salt Lake City as the 11th healthiest metropolitan area in the country.

This is largely based on the Salt Lake City area's booming outdoor recreation economy.  The area is know for it's world class skiing, hiking, mountain climbing and fly fishing as well as cycling, river rafting and more.

It is the type of environment that just wants you to get outside and do something...anything.

Boston topped the list along with other noteworthy cities in the top ten including San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis, Portland and Denver.

Whether you live in Salt Lake City, Denver, San Francisco or Des Moines, spend a day outside in nature and find yourself looking and feeling better in no time.

Hi Scott, glad to hear Salt Lake City is considered one of the healthiest in our nation. No matter where we live, being outdoors, spending time with the mother nature and eating healthy should be a conscious effort on our part.

Hi Scott -- I'm not really surprised to hear Salt Lake City is a healthy place to live in the USA -- actually, I might have thought it would rank even higher.

Scott,  it must be that clean park city mountain air and all the outdoor activities.  Glad to see Denver made the good list.

GOOD MORNING SCOTT - your posts alone about Utah show that it's a healthy place to live - being on a list just proves you're right!  I agree - just get out and do something!

I think this might be because every one seems to be shipping their sick friends and relatives down here to Florida!

I don't even want to think about where New York is except that a lot of walking goes on here.

Ronald-you know exactly what I am talking about.

Bette-or at least stop by a few of these cities for a visit.

Ron and Alexandra-I have never been to Santa Barbara, one place I would like to make it to one of these days.

Sharon and Bruce-I have never been to Minneapolis other than a layover at the airport but it sure did look beautiful flying in.

Kevin-there are a lot of wonderful spots to live in in this great country and I am sure Port St. Lucie is one of them.

Beth-that is so true.  This business keeps me from getting out as much as I would like but I try to think and eat healthy as much as possible.

Michel-the one real downside is the air quality during the winter months, but up here in Park City we have fresh, clean mountain air all year round.

Belinda-I was hoping you would make note of that.

Roger-see  my answer to Michael above, that is my guess.

Gabrielle-I am sure Tucson would be high up on any list as well, you have really showed me all the nice things about your area.

Gabe, haha, could be.  Don't worry I will always have good things to say about your great area.

Liz-One thing for sure, New York would be pretty high u on the culture list.

Many of should be seeking that healthier lifestyle. The negative is that it may require fewer cocktails.

Interesting that so many of the 'healthy' cities are in the West; I guess it's our outdoor life style that promotes movement.

It must be all the exercise and fresh air. I know seeing the crisp clean slopes and blue skies tells me that being outside is exhilarating.

Christine-you would love it, and so much to do other than skiing.  There is snowmobiling, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and even ice fishing.

Barbara Jo-It must be because I always savor the fresh air.

Margaret-I am thankful for what we have out here.

Lottie-I think you are right.  Lower population densities, mountains and oceans all contribute to that I think.

Debbie-Our blue skies will be gone for a while we will be getting a lot of snow for the next 5 or 6 days but that's all good too.
