What a week. I thought I would just write something fun and take mymind off of business for a few minutes.
My wife and I enjoy movies. For me, one of the things I like best is the writing. There are some lines in the dialogue that just hit home with my life experiences. I have been fortunate enough to live in some of the greatest places in the United States. From New York to Southern California and now in the great state of Texas in Frisco. You get to see and learn a lot about the various people that live in the world.
During this time I was also lucky enough to travel throughout the US and internationally going over the pond to the UK and Europe, Middle East, Asia, then to Central America, South America and Australia. These different experiences have allowed me to grow and see things from various perspectives. That is why I think I can relate to movie lines and "get" what that character was seeing, hearing and feeling. I would like to share some of my favorite quotes and I hope you will too. While I have hundreds, here are a quick ten to get us started:
The Guardian with Kevin Costner - "Hell, I've always been old Ben. Ya' know what though, I don't mind. I mean if my muscles ache, it's because I've used 'em. It's hard for me to walk up them steps now, its 'cuz I walked up 'em every night to lay next to a man who loved me. I got a few wrinkles here and there, but I've layed under thousands of skies with sunny days. I look and feel this way, well cuz I drank and I smoked. I lived and I loved, danced, sang, sweat and screwed my way thorough a pretty damn good life if you ask me. Getting old ain't bad Ben. Getting old, that's earned."
Glengarry Glen Ross - "You want to know what it takes to sell real estate? It takes BRASS B*LLS to sell real estate."
Boiler Room - "And there is no such thing as a no sale call. A sale is made on every call you make."
O Brother, Where Art Thou - "I detect, like me, you're endowed with the gift of gab."
Clueless - "Sometimes you have to show a little skin. This reminds boys of being naked, and then they think of sex."
Pretty Woman - "Welcome to Hollywood! What's your dream? Everybody comes here; this is Hollywood, land of dreams. Some dreams come true, some don't; but keep on dreamin' - this is Hollywood. Always time to dream, so keep on dreamin'."
Shawshank Redemption - "Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."
The Hunger Games - "Hope. It is the only thing stronger than fear."
The American President - "How do you have patience for people who claim they love America, but clearly can't stand Americans?"
Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 - "I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."
