New Years and the Super Bowl have come and gone but we here in Southwest Louisiana Roll right into Mardi Gras season! Twelfth Night was January 6, 2014 and that is when Mardi Gras begins. From then until March 2, 2014 you can expect to see Mardi Gras events taking place in Calcasieu Parish!
Let me share some of my personal events with you so you can get a feel for how we roll during Mardi Gras in Lake Charles LA!
Over the weekend we attended two Mardi Gras Krewe Events. Many of the Lake Charles Mardi Gras Krewes will hold a formal cocktail party for members when their Ball is Costume. That is the best of both worlds because you get the Cinderella experience along with the wild and crazy fun of theme costumes!
My husband and I belong to Krewe du Lac and our Costume Ball will be coming up soon but in the meantime we still got to grace the dance floor at our Krewe du Lac Cocktail Party Friday night!
Now for a completely different spin on a formal event we headed to the Krewe of Barataria Costume Ball on Saturday night.
My husband Craig Boudreaux is a loan officer with Louisiana Mortgage Associates here in Lake Charles, LA and this year our friend and Broker/Owner of Louisiana Mortgage Associates, Keith Wimberly was part of the Royal Court for Krewe of Barataria! We attended the Barataria Ball Saturday night and appropriately Keith had a "Monopoly" theme!
