As I have explained in a prior article, Katy Texas and surrounding areas are comprised of 3 separate counties with these being Harris County, Fort Bend County and on the far west side Waller County. I mention once again as many times residents and nonresidents get confused by this situation. I personally live in Fort Bend County but not that far away from Harris County and most folks are indifferent to looking at a county distinction when buying a home. I try to write blogs about things happening in both Harris and Fort bend counties and every once in a great awhile I find something to write about that occurs in Waller County.
The Harris County Master Gardeners Association is a 501(c)(#) non-profit incorporated Association who is affiliated with Texas AgriLife Extension in Harris County and with The Texas A&M System. The Harris County Master Gardeners are hosting a meeting on Saturday March 15, 2014 titled “ Irrigation”. The meeting is being held at the Maud Smith Marks Branch Library in Katy. This seminar will start at 10 AM and will last till at least 12:00 PM.
This seminar I believe the local community needs to know about as several Katy neighborhoods have gone under voluntary water restrictions due to the current drought conditions last two or more summer seasons. We all need to learn more about conserving water and this session I am sure will tell everyone how to setup a proper irrigation system that does not waste water.
I am publishing this early as seating is very limited and all Master gardeners presentations both in Harris County and Fort Bend County are very popular. Registration can be done by going to here.
