Homes in Tyler Texas are moving and we have an old familiar problem. Agents who don't do much finally getting a customer and agents forgetting they aren't the deal, their customer is. It seems that every week now we have an agent get in the way of a deal going thru. I had a seller call me from another agents listing that one of our agents had tried to work a deal on. I told the guy that he had an agent and should speak to her. He wanted to know why we quit negotiating on his property and I told him he had turned down our last counter and our customer was moving on. His reply was "What Counter?" OOPS! Houston we have a problem! I said, "you are a very nice guy, but you really need to talk to your agent and find out what's going on."
This seller had a cash buyer on the hook from our firm and was $4000 away from a deal on a $275,000 home, when his agent let her ego take over and kill the deal. He was really mad and I couldn't help him and it was a shame. He has called me again and when his listing expires in 3 weeks it's ours, but his house should closing in 3 weeks, not being relisted. The ironic part is, his present agent has a reputation for this and our agent knew it, so it was easy for us to show our customer another home just 2 blocks away and make the sale, knowing this was going to most likely happen.
It's important to remember the integrity of the deal when dealing with customers and other agents. Yes, there are agents we all don't care for in any community, but it is always our job to represent our customers and keep the integrity of the deal out front for everyone to see.
