I know it's still technically winter. Spring doesn't officially begin in Austin until March 20th. But that doesn't mean we have to wait to experience the fun of a Texas rodeo. Rodeo Austin 2014 comes to the Travis County Expo Center March 1st through the 16th. And you're not gonna want to miss a minute of it!

Rodeo Austin 2014 commemorates more than 75 years of the rich western heritage Texas is known for. The rodeo is more than a rodeo, though. Sure, there are cowboys roping steer, riding bareback, barrel racing and even bullfighters. However, Rodeo Austin 2014 also hosts several livestock shows, a petting zoo, a BBQ cook-off, swine pig races, Wild West Show, tours, a dog show, an amazing food court and so much more. Concerts include country music superstars like Clay Walker, Thompson Square, Chris Young, the Eli Young Band and Lee Brice, American Idol winner Scotty McCready and Country Legends like Dwight Yoakam, Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson with many, many other talented acts performing throughout the 16 day event.

Ticket prices vary as follows:

Fairgrounds - $8 for adults (13+), $5 for kids (2-12), FREE for kids under 2, $25 for an adult season pass and $15 for a child season pass
Rodeo and Concert - $20-$35 for reserved seating, $40-$45 for box seating and $175 for Xtreme seating
Carnival (March 8-23) - $33 online/$38 at the gate for adults and $30 online/$35 at the gate for kids daily unlimited ride wristbands or $90 for adults and $80 for kids season pass unlimited ride wristbands
Special Rodeo/Willie Nelson & Family concert on March 9th - $50 per person SRO/General Admission to Rodeo and $100 per person for SRO/Arena Floor for the concert only (no rodeo admission).
