Many Southwest Louisiana residents are off work today in observance of Good Friday. You may wonder how people in Southwest Louisiana spend the day on Good Friday. There were many activities going on throughout Calcasieu Parish and will continue tomorrow with Easter Egg Hunts and celebrations!
Since real estate never stops, as an active Lake Charles Realtor I spent my morning showing homes and writing up an offer! While driving the roads of the Lake Charles area, you could see more cars than usual in homeowners driveways. We are lucky to be blessed with beautiful 78 degree weather today to enjoy outside activities. In our predominantly Catholic Parish of Calcasieu, many families were gathered today for crawfish boils, frying fish or eating boiled crabs. Our delicious Cajun food is one of the benefits of living in Southwest Louisiana and today that was evident and if you were eating crawfish, you paid .25 more today on Good Friday due to the short supply from the cold winter!
During my travels around town today, I happened to drive by one of the homes I sold last year. The front yard was full of family with tables and chairs and it warmed my heart to see the enjoyment being had! The homeowners recognized my car pass and waved to me and that really made me smile! Lake Charles is still small enough that you can run into people you know, honk, wave or smile! I love showcasing Southwest Louisiana homes and the first holiday homeowners spend in a home is certainly very special. Want to know more about Living in Lake Charles? Easter is such a beautiful time of year, its the beginning of Spring and renewal. Homes are somewhat like that for first time homebuyers or new owners, its a new start and the beginning of many memories!
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
