Show Up for InspectionsSo, you’ve made an offer on a house in a great location and your offer was accepted. Now you and your agent are setting up the inspections.

Should you show up during inspections?

This is a very common question and the short answer is: yes!

You are paying for the inspection and this is your opportunity to ask questions. Additionally, some inspectors will offer tips about maintenance points and schedules – All of which are great things to learn for first-time homebuyers.

Another good idea is to bring a notebook with you. While you will receive a written report of everything he finds, you will want to take notes of answers to the questions that YOU come up with. Sometimes your questions will lead to a second inspection with a specialist in a particular field. Even if the issues the inspector finds are ones you are willing to live with, you are going to have to take care of some of them eventually and you might as well have a list handy to prioritize these issues.

Above all remember to ask questions during the inspection! This is your time to ease some of your doubts so take full advantage of it.
