This Sensei Had Two Grasshoppers and Learns from the Two
My Sensei/Grasshopper encounters were good for me too. Not only was I able to share but I learned from my grasshoppers. First let me explain how we got connected.
Early in the month I read a post from Jenna Weinerman with Updater.com. Jenna wrote her first post in the Rain and was asking what we like about the network. I sent Jenna an email and offered to be her Sensei for the Sensei/Grasshopper Challenge that Dick Greenberg is having this month. We set a time to talk and Jenna called me. I got to share about how powerful ActiveRain is and how it could help her business. I gave her my opinions about regular posting and commenting and how she would love to build relationships here and show what a good product that she has. I encouraged her to share information about Updater.com and agents would enjoy learning about it.
My second Grasshopper contacted me to learn more about making videos. Catherine Ulrey is a top producer at Keller Williams in Oregon and knows how to sell real estate. She has done just fine without making a lot of videos but wanted to know more about them. I shared some tips with her about my learning curve and some of the things I learned along the way. She said she got lots of ideas. I hope I made her excited and she will really want to try some of the techniques.
What did this Sensei learn from her Grasshoppers? I learned that Jenna was a programmer and knew HTML coding. I told her it was on my agenda this year to learn more about HTML but I didn't know where to get started. She said I could learn online and sent me a link to an online course and it is even free. I am looking forward to using that and will be doing it in the next 30 days. From Catherine I learned that no matter how successful you are, you should be looking for ways to learn and improve. Successful people realize you take time to learn and there is always room for improvement.
