How To Find A Home Stager In Connecticut To Update Furniture

Many homes are furnished with "sets", where all the furniture matches.  Whether they're in the Dining or Living Room, the Master Bedroom, or Kitchen, they can easily look dated within a few years.  This happens because many people, looking to furnish their first homes or larger houses they've moved into, buy from stores that usually present furniture this way in the showrooms.  It's an easy choice for the homeowner, and an easy sell for the store.

Case in point:

Before

Before

When it comes time to sell, houses can present better if there's a more updated look to the decor that presents an aspirational lifestyle.  Most shelter magazines and high-end catalogs seldom show rooms where all the furniture matches.  There's a subtlety to the mix-and-match of design that looks more high-end than it actually may be.

However, buying all-new furniture or even renting may be beyond most sellers' budgets.

What to do?

Consult with a professional Home Stager.

After:

Nestings Home Staging worked with the sellers to present their home for the market.  First, we flipped the room layout, so the master bed is the focal point of the room upon entering.  Second, we added valuable lighting and dramatically scaled artwork.

Most importantly, we broke up the matchy-matchy look of the furniture!  A simple slipcover was made for the headboard.  It now resembles an updated upholstered headboard, and the white fabric helps brighten up the room.  Made from two tablecloths, it was inexpensive and easy to make.

I think it looks great!

This is a quick and easy example of how a Home Stager can use creative, low cost solutions to update furniture to help sell houses faster.

Hi Suzanne - that is very interesting.  I knew that the lower picture was more appealing but didn't recognize the changes except that the doggie stairs were moved.  But hey, I'm a guy - I'm not supposed to notice

Good morning Suzanne. Good choice for a re-blog. She brings up some good points in her posts. Eric is right about the doogie steps.

And that's why women are the inevitably the ones who make the decision on purchasing homes Eric :)

I still have those steps for my cat Joe. But if I sold, she'd have to do without during showings.
