Canadians flooding the Palm Springs Market

By
Real Estate Agent with The Paul Kaplan Group, Inc

Who is taking advantage of the low housing prices? Smart Canadians. In the past few months we have been receiving a number of inquiries from our neighbors in the North, inquiring about purchasing in the Palm Springs area.  The strength of the Canadian dollar  compared to the US dollar, is added incentive for foreign nationals to invest in Palm Springs, which has been a popular winter playground for Canadians, for years. Recently, my clients from Vancouver were shocked at what they could purchase here for $400,000 compared to what that same house would cost them in Canada.  Smart buyers are realizing the values.

To help Canadians understand the process of what is involved with purchasing here, I've put together a page on my website: http://www.paulkaplanrealtor.com/ForeignBuyers.php

We have also lined up lenders that are experienced with the loan guidelines for foreign nationals, in an effort to simplify the process.

Paul, I was recently in Florida and talking to a few Realtors and, interestingly enough, heard that in addition to the Canadians, that also the Russians are putting a large influx of money into Florida real estate.  Very interesting.  Who would have thunk that 30 years ago???!!!  Are you getting a lot of Russian investors in California too?  We're not seeing any of either here in New Jersey.

I grew up out there. Graduated from PS High many moons ago. Things sure have changed. And you are right, smart Canadians.
