Are You Working This Weekend? So AM I!

In the Real Estate industry we all know that we have to work weekends and sometimes late nights. What I do not understand and cannot believe is how many loan originators do not work on the weekends? How is this possible when that is the time our Realtors/Builders need us the most? Unless you are a loan originator who sits in a bank branch somewhere and gets walk in traffic all day, you need to be out working weekends. If I was a Realtor I would have a hard time with sending someone business who is not there working with me. They do not have to be there the entire time, but loan originators need to be out making calls and visiting open houses. Rewind a few years ago to the refinance boom, loan officers would have their phone ringing off the hook and did not have to worry about going out and self sourcing business. What I say to that is "Live by the door, Die by the door" That is exactly what is happening now. Many loan officers that did not take the time to go out and establish relationships with Realtors/Builders are now feeling that pain. To me it is a sign of laziness and disrespect to our referral partners. I see loan officers that never work the weekends and the agents call them Monday and send them contracts? Where were they this weekend? I truly believe hard work wins every time, if you are out working you will be successful. When I go out in the market on the weekends and go to opens houses I never see other lenders? My team goes out on the weekends to show our referral partners that we support them and are here to help. That should show you we want the business and are willing to work for it. I love it when I hear people say that someone is just lucky for getting a big deal or multiple contract's, my answer to that is Hard work = Luck! It is all about timing and being at the right place at the right time. I can assure you that sitting on the couch, or being at the lake is neither of those. Till then, see you this weekend!!

I've worked so many weekends that I never acknowledge that there is a weekend.
