Debbie's Quick Fixes How to Fix a Nail Pop Refresher
My quick fixes will help you correct those sheetrock screws that work their way back out of the wall and make unsightly bulges. I wrote a previous post Debbie's Quick Fixes How to Fix Dents in Your Front Door that helped provide information on correcting dents in your metal front doors. I hope you will benefit from my Quick Fixes and give them a try.
What you will need for Debbie's Quick Fixes How to Fix a Nail Pop:
1. A hammer 4. Fine sandpaper (drywall sanding block)
2. Spackle (I like the pink quick-drying kind) 5. Small paint brush
3. Putty knife 6. Wall paint that matches the wall
Use a hammer to pound the nail back into the wall to make an indention. Remove any loose drywall pieces. Take your putty knife and with a generous amount of spackle and spread over the indention, smoothing it as you go. Let it completely dry, then lightly sand until smooth to the touch. If the depression is still visible apply another coat of spackle and repeat the process.
Wipe away the sanding dust before you paint. Dip your paint brush straight down into the paint about an inch deep getting paint in-between the ends of the bristles. Apply the paint using the ends of the brush bristles dabbing at the spot you are repairing. Swipes or strokes will show up on the wall so avoid this type of application. When the paint is dry see if the blemish is now gone. If it did not completely cover it, you may have not gotten enough spackle and may have to add more spackle and paint again.
