10 Ways to raise your site in Google Part 3

By
Home Inspector with EZ Rider Home Inspections LLC.

Ok, time for part three.

This is part three of a ten aprt series on how to increase your website rankings on Google. That being said, there are tons of things webmasters can do to help their sites perform better in search, so this list is not by a long shot finished. It is, though, what I think are the top ten strategies for better search engine-and by "search engine" I mean "Google" - placement.

3. Quality Links

Or more specifically, backlinks, links to your site from outside sources. Links are your letters of recommendation. If nobody's recommending you, or the recommendations seem phony, then it won't work. Authority links are weighted most heavily, of course, so try to get industry-related authority sites to link to your site.

More to come.

Hi Don,  thanks for the post.  I've gotta say, there are a lot of people saying what to do for google rank, but few talking about how to do it.  If you've got some suggestions on "how" to ge those backlinks going without looking like a link farm, I would be ecstatic!  Thanks for any help, and for keeping the google rank blog going!

I'm keeping up with you Don but a little more detail about Links would be helpful. How do you actually get them started?

Rick & Bob,

Links are basically a link to your page from another page. make sure your website link is on active Rain. and ask other people if they will put your link on their website if you put theirs on your site. Amazing how most will and this really help, especially if both are in the same profession. I have a links page to which all of the links are located.
