The Business/Self-Promotion Side of Home Staging

I just can't seem to figure out how to get material ready to show realtors. Do I make up some sheets of paper with why realtors need me (HA} with pictures of befores and afters. Do I make up brochures, thats expensive!! But I need something to give Realtors so they can give their clients. What is some tried and true methods from some of you that have been doing this a while. The realtors around here, think they are homestagers, because they read the emails from NAR. So they give homeowners a list of "to do's" and they think thats it. It's really going to be hard to get my foot in the door. And by the way, how do you do that, just cold call realtors?  I need so experti advice, and I know its oozing here at active rain. I've learned so much already. It's not the staging part, its the business part, I'm lacking in. Hey, at least I'm honest.

Dawn, I'm new here too but my suggestion is to go to the Stage It Forward group. Right now there are some blogs on cold calling and marketing. You can also search the site for info. The Out of the Box group has some interesting ideas about marketing "out of the box" also. Personally, I hate cold calling so I have asked friends, etc to run some interference for me and introduce me to real estate agents--or at least let me say, so and so suggested I call you. Going to open houses and intoducing myself has also had pretty good results.
