I see this happen all the time.
Not just the younger Gen of today, but a lot of the populace.
A cell phone rings...in the group, everyone knows who's phone it is.
But after the person answers it, several more will check their phones.
It is like they think it was their phone that should have rang.
Or, are they afraid of not hearing the call?
I check my phone when I get a ring tone of some sort that tells me I have a call or message.
I just don't try and 'Will' my phone to do so.
Good morning William. I had to smile as I read and can relate to your posts. It's true. It will be interesting when we see all the grand-kids soon all with phones in hand. It will be a new experience for all of us.

It has happened to me a few times but I'm usually checking to make sure my ringer is on silent so not to disturb the group if my phone rings.
It's like some bizarre addiction or something.
What will these people do if truly hard economic times befall America, and there are no cell phones?
It is that Pavlov effect. "If they got a call I must be getting one too." If the bell rings __________ blank happens.
It used to be all of them rang the same...but now there isn't much excuse for it.

It looks real stupid when a phone rings and everyone grabs theirs hoping for a call also I suspect.
funny observation Bill, very seldom do I ever "will" may phone to ring, more likely to shut it off when I am in a crowd.
