What a perfect night to gather and celebrate our very first Lochwood Estates 'Movies in the Park' event, here in East Dallas!
A huge success, neighbors and friends gathered with picnic baskets, blankets and chairs in our neighborhood Lochwood Park to enjoy a movie night under the stars.
Complete with a Kona Shaved Ice truck and The Butcher's Table to provide good eats, we were also joined by some fundraising kiddos from nearby Martha Turner Reilly Elementary with popcorn and glow-sticks.
The night began with mingling and picnic posting, children running about and playing on the adjoining play equipment. The first movie, Mickey's Three Muskateers, had to be cut short due to sound issues. But what would an outdoor event be without a hiccup or two?
So The Wizard of Oz began and the coast was clear for a great night under the stars. I haven't had the chance to enjoy that movie in years, so it was a welcome repreive to watch an old classic again. Neighbors sang along to songs, and really enjoyed sharing childhood memories with their own kiddos.
It was so great to be a part of this event, be able to sponsor the first of it's kind and to meet and see so many neighborly faces. I know many are excited to see the next event come alive, here in Lochwood. After all, there's no place like home!
