Surprise!!! It is raining in Oregon! In fact they are predicting this first fall storm to be a big one!
I know for some of you it is hard to believe that Oregon has a day without rain right? We are known for the beautiful mountains, timber, green landscape and rain, rain, rain! But opposite of popular belief we have some exceptional warm weather and to see it raining today is refreshing! With the recent fires in our area surrounding us it sure does help with the air quality too!.
Take a deep breath, Ahhh, love it! Fresh air!
When I see the season change I also look at it as an opportunity to change a little things myself. It is like a new beginning, refresh, renew, refocus, regroup, rethink, or…..maybe for some it is just repeat.
But I prefer to think of it as a good time to change things up a bit. Recently I changed my diet and exercise program, change it up a bit so I don't get bored. Another thing is I just dragged out some warmer blankets for the bed or when I want to cozy up on the couch. I also made a note to fill up my kerosene lamp and have my flash light ready if we lose power. Checked my cupboards to make a shopping list for things I need to make a big pot of chili. Oh yes, and I put away my flip-flops and dragged out some shoes and sox. And where is my jacket??.....
That a good start, so now lets work on my Fall Checklist for our rentals. I need to start thinking about things such as:
Going to have to keep on eye on our gutters and get ready to have those cleaned soon
Check to see if there are roofs that need attention
Have a professional do a maintenance check on your furnace
Check smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors
Put unused lawn equipment away (yay! no more watering, nature is taking care of that)
Have chimney check/cleaned
What else should I add to this list? What is some of the things you do in transition from summer to fall?
