Clients can have a hard time understanding that they may not love their home after they stage it. It's ok with me because the person who has to love their home is the Buyer.
Unlike a designer who focuses on creating the perfect space for the owner, I as a stager focus on the Buyer. I am there to move the house into 'selling mode'. The home must appeal to a cross section of the buyer pool not one specific person's taste.
It is important to highlight the features that Buyers are looking for such as spacious rooms for the size of home, lots of natural light and plenty of storage.
This means I am going to look at paint colors.
I am going to check out the traffic flow within a space.
Furniture placement and the number of pieces may change.
Updates will be recommended.
The home will be depersonalized without making it feel cold.
Red flags that pop for me will be discussed.
Your home must compete with similar homes already on the market. It is important to give the Buyer a reason to choose your house first.
It doesn't matter if the view of the TV is affected. What matters is that your home sells as quickly as possible for the best possible price.
