Reminder to Set Your Clocks Back an Hour!

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with NCS Premier Real Estate Michigan Broker

Just a friendly reminder that we have come to our Daylight Savings Time Ending.  Set Your Clocks back one hour.

We truly do WELCOME that extra hour more so that we do in the Spring Time when we lose an hour.

You've probably already noticed that it's dark about 7:30 PM - depending on your location.  After the change, it will now get dark earlier, which will prompt most of us to end our day a lot sooner and you will want to wind down for the evening.

I read this article written by Dr. Robert Oexman, and it stated that in the Spring when we Spring Forward, that there's actual more heart attacks and car accidents during that week.  Which just goes to show you just how much we should really value our rest and sleep time.  Remember 1/3 of our lives is spent in bed.  Per Dr. Oexman, he also stated, "If you can just make an effort to get a little bit more sleep, maybe we can control diseases like heart disease or diabetes or risk of accidents." Just goes to show you the importance of gaining one hour sleep.

Please take the time to really enjoy that extra hour, whether it's for family time or just some alone time.  Get some much needed rest.

I'd be very happy if we just stuck with standard time all year long! Besides, I like having my light in the morning.

I would have to agree with you on this one Nina Hollander - I like having my light in the morning.  Seems like this time of year, we get up when it's dark and we get home when it's dark!  It can get a bit depressing - thank GOD - I'm not in an office with NO windows - now that would be real depressing!

Graziella we don't change times here in most of AZ.  Our only issue is remembering what time it is in other zones and not missing meetings because of it (which has happened)!

We don't make the change here in Hawaii. My reminder-to-self is that (almost) everyone else does so I have to adjust my call times to out of state clients.

Thanks Anna Banana Kruchten and Kathleen Luiten - It would probably pay to have an all States clock that would list the times zones.

Aloha Graziella,

Thank you for the the reminder, we don't observe daylight savings time here in Hawaii as Kathleen pointed out but everyone on the Continent does. It's that annoying time of the year that must we pause and try to recall the difference in the time from zones.

peace,

Graziella... I once had an office with no windows. Do I need to tell you that didn't last long and I didn't spend much time in it?

Thanks Kimo Stowell - I'm so looking forward to coming back to Hawaii in March of 2015 - we will be in Maui for a week.

Nina Hollander - I remember having an office with no windows - I only stayed in there to do paperwork and then would walk out and visit those in office with windows, just to get a peak of what outside was like!
