It felt as if October came and went like the wind (at least that is how it felt). Inventory took a slight uptick as folks that did not make the summer selling season put their homes on the market in September and October hoping for an end of the year close. We do get some activity here in Agoura Hills CA in October and November for relocation families and just those families that are ready for a change mid school year. As has been reported during this summer and recently, buyers are an awkward bunch this year. Going in and out of escrow, refusing to offer and when you do get an offer it is the old school low ball style in which sellers are offended. Finding that middle ground has been extremely different.
However, some homes are selling and the market is still plugging along. Prices have not dumped to scary levels but they are down significantly from earlier this year between 5% to over 20% in some areas of Agoura Hills CA, the higher end getting hit the hardest by price and frustration.
