Can my AR friends help me out?  Which photo do you like best and tell me why?  OK to also tell me what you do not like about either.  My goal is to be a better photographer, so I value your opinion.  Just in case you are wondering, I made some enhancements in a photo editing program called "Lightroom"

Thanks folks.

great shots.  I like the top one better as more water showing and lady liberty is more prominent.

BTW, it took a long time for these to load on my page.

Thanks Debbie, they are High Resolution, maybe I should reduce the MB.

I like the bottom one better - looks like a better weather day, and I like the light.

Kenneth - The top photo seems to have a more sharper image of the Statue of Liberty, and it is a little larger in the photo. The lower photo seems to have more sunshine reflecting on it, making it brighter but not as much contrast. I think I like the top one better.

Kenneth Cole, Top photo is the clear winner for me because it is sharper and the primary image is framed better.

Carol;  Thank you for the reflection.

Troy;  Very good observation, thanks so much

Sam;  Thank you so much, I can see you have a good eye and knowledge of photography.

Folks;  both of these images are from the same file, just a little different enhancements from my photo editing program.

I like the vignetting on the first photo though it may be a little much.  I also like that the subject fills the frame better.  I don't like that you took the photo from so far away on a humid day.  There is a lot of moisture in the air which takes away the sharpness of your photo.  To me deep blue skies make for a more cheery photo.

Lee;  Wow, you have a good eye.  Great comments, thanks.  When I left my house in Staten Island, the sky was blue, 40 minutes later was another story.  I wish I could get closer to the Statue, but the only way to do that is by boat and then I would not have a platform that is stable.  New York City is almost always humid, we go from humid to very humid.  This shot is about one mile away, maybe a little less.  Thanks again for your great comments.

Kenneth,

We can't do anything about the weather.  The trick is to wait for that perfect shot.  Sometimes I have an idea for a photo and I have to wait months for the conditions to come together.  Here's a photo that took three months to create.  The sky isn't what I was after, but it's what I had when I was able to make the picture.

Here's another photo where the conditions were right so I ran out to a spot I thought I could get a good shot and started shooting.  After about an hour of shooting and several attemps at processing the image, this is what I got.
